Blueberry Banana Oatmeal Smoothie

I don't know about you but I love all things in smoothie form. Call me what you will! I think smoothies give me more room for error yet there's still a solid chance it'll end up being delicious. I'm pretty bad about having a good breakfast every morning. Yesterday morning I was lazy and decided to have a bowl of cereal for breakfast. BAD IDEA. My stomach couldn't handle so much milk so early/right after waking up so it literally turned inside out and made me regret that decision immediately. Daniel has been telling me for months that I am lactose intolerant but I have this problem with always having to learn the hard way. Is there anyone else like this? I also hardly used the huge tin of oats I just had to buy a few months back. In my head I thought "I'm going to make these oat muffins all the time so I need all of these oats", I lied. I don't care for the texture of oatmeal so I have to have mixed into something so I can trick myself into eating it. I prefer to have oatmeal cookies all the time but I'm certain I would be 800 pounds after a week of that. Haha. Anyway, onto he the main attraction, this Blueberry Banana Oatmeal Smoothie is dairy & gluten free! You can do with out without the sugar but I wanted it to be a little sweeter. Hope you like it!

Ingredients
1/2 cup of raw oats
2 cups of water
1 ripe banana
3/4 cups blueberries
1/2 cup Wild Harvest Organic Soy Milk
1 cup of ice
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp raw sugar

Directions
Pour your water and oats into a pan. Boil for 2--3 minutes, mixing often, or until it is a thick wet mixture. Let oats cool (You can save time by doing this at night and letting it cool in the fridge overnight.) Add cooled oats, banana, blueberries, soy milk, ice, vanilla extract and sugar into a blender. Blend on high until you've reached your desired consistency. Pour and enjoy!

For the rim
I dipped my finger into the oatmeal while it was still warm and lined the rim of my glass with the gooeynes - that is definitely not a real word, hahahha. Then I poured some raw oats into a bowl and dipped the rim of my glass into them! Viola!

XOXO
