Homemade Fine Motor Activity

I don't know about yours but my almost two year old gets a little loopy when he's in the house too long or even just is getting too close to nap/bed time. I see people making games at home for their kids all the time on pinterest. I would like to say I'm one of those moms that is so ridiculously crafty that my kids have endless entertainment at home but it would be a big fat lie. I did however get a little creative this past week!
We made a fine motor activity in all of 2 minutes. This is super fast and super cheap. Greyson loved 'helping' me too! This was the result! 20 uniterupted minutes of concentration. It is an absolute miracle.

Things you'll need:
   Empty (yogurt) container
   Toothpicks
   Drill

Take your (yogurt) container and flip it upside down. Using the second smallest drillbit - I'm not sure if that is even what its called - drill 8 holes around the outer ring of the container. You may have to push hard if your container is thick like mine. Then drill one hole in the center. Flip right side up, put your toothpicks inside for storing, outside to play, and put your lid on. Bam! Done. See picture below for reference. Enjoy! XOXO

  1. I love this idea! I nanny for an almost 2 year old and on days where we're stuck inside, we both want to lose our minds haha. I think he would like something like this. Thanks for sharing it!

    1. His parents will love you for it. You'll be nanny of the year of the quiet time they'll get out of it! And of course it'll save your sanity too!

    1. Hahah, you're welcome! I usually am thinking so hard about what I should do/make that I miss all the easy things. I'm guessing that's what you did too!

  3. As a child I would get so bored being an only child that my mom would come up with these like this to keep my entertained. Pinterest has so many ideas, it's too bad this was a tool back in the day lol.
