St. Patrick's Day

I hope you all had a wonderful 'St. Patty's' day! We had a low key day at home but with some festive celebrations of course. Greyson and London both rocked these adorable outfits!

First things first, I attempted to make shamrock shaped pancakes and failed. I would suggest getting a bottle with a pointed top to pour your mix out of. I don't even have pictures of how ours turned out because they looked more like strange clouds. We did, however, make some shamrock shakes! Back when I did eat McDonald's -ugh I can't believe I ever did, gross! - my favorite thing ever was their shamrock shake! I'd never get one there now so we made some at home! I had to alter our recipe a bit based on what we had to work with but here is my original recipe. Enjoy! XOXO

Shamrock Shake
3 cups french vanilla ice cream
1 1/2 cups organic whole milk
1/2 teaspoon mint extract
4-5 drops of green food coloring

Add all ingredients to blender. Blend on 'auto smoothie' or high until you reach desired consistency. For a thicker shake, use a bit less milk. I sometimes need to take a spoon and mix it myself to get any big chunks of ice cream moved out from the blade and then blend again. Last step, pour and enjoy!
