Adventuring

Saturday morning we woke up and headed to our favorite breakfast spot, The Blueberry Muffin. We seriously love it. If you live on the south shore of Massachusetts and haven't been, change that asap. The point here is we had a quiet relaxing breakfast out with the kids. Can you believe that? A one and two year old made it through an entire meal in public without a single tantrum! So after we ate we were feeling adventurous. We talk a lot about going for hikes with the kids but just hadn't found anywhere yet and also were a bit hesitant about how well they'd do walking for so long. Today was so great already we just went with it.
We found the Bourne Sisters Woodland. It was nap time for London almost as soon as we got there so she slept in our Britax Carrier for the majority of it. Greyson ran around checking the map and telling us where to next. He also was carrying his camera bag around for a while simply just to be like daddy. It was so sweet to have this time just exploring as a family. It is by far one of my favorite things we've done together.
We found this tree along the way that was decorated with all kinds of strange Christmas ornaments. Grey thought it was great because "look someone is decorating for Christmas" but I wasn't as big a fan. These bride and groom fish creep me out, haha. This is about when London woke up from her nap and wanted to be free! And drink all the water!
We love taking the kids out to play when we have full days off together and always find that the free things we opt for are usually more fun for them. We'll definitely be hiking more now that we've had a successful run. Being active all day was so good for all of us although my legs felt like jello by 5pm! I'd love to hear what activities you and your family are enjoying this season! I need ideas for indoor fun too. The weather will be getting very chilly here soon!

    1. Greyson wanted to decorate it too so I think we're going to bring a new ornament on our next trip!

  4. Beautiful hiking trail. Have you tried Geoching? You go on hikes and find thing(treasure) people have left and you take something out and you leave something new. Kids love it.
